Neal joined TMS in 2019. Before joining TMS Neal had carried out a PGCE at Wolverhampton University, he then went on to work for 10 years as a secondary school Mathematics teacher.
Prior to teaching Neal worked for Telford & Wrekin Borough Council as a Traffic Engineer. Neal was part of a successful team designing road safety schemes and reducing casualties in Telford year on year. He was also part of the team that won the Institute of Highways and Transportation – Winner of Road Safety Award, Best Casualty Reduction Scheme 2006, the A442 Dual Carriageway.
Neal carried out an extensive borough wide urban & rural village speed limit review, followed by the consultation and implementation of the scheme. Neal also worked on the development and implementation of a directional signing strategy for the Borough of Telford & Wrekin Council.
Neal has carried out the consultation through to implementation of several 20mph Zone Schemes within the Borough. He is familiar with writing and handling legal documents as part of his duties including dealing with Traffic Regulation Orders on the highway and organising a TRO database.
Neal is part of our core audit team, carrying out road safety audits throughout the UK and he has completed the National Highways certificate of competency in Road Safety Audit which meets the requirements of GG119. To date Neal has carried out 533 Audits as a Team Member. Neal also has experience at TMS Consultancy working on collision investigation schemes and project work.
