Road Safety Engineer - CertEd, FCIHT, MSoRSA, NH RSA Cert Comp
Richard joined TMS in 2019. Prior to this he worked for 10 years in road safety, 7 years with the North East Lincolnshire Council / ENGIE Regeneration Partnership as the Road Safety Engineer. His role involved completing casualty reduction studies and collision analysis to identify locations for future road safety schemes.
Richard has many years of collision investigation and was responsible for carrying out post fatal crash investigations with Humberside Police and has been involved with carrying out consultation through to implementation of numerous road safety schemes. He has been influential in the implementation of several successful 20mph School Safety Zone Schemes within the Borough together with assisting with the design of the £7.2M Cleethorpes Regeneration Scheme which is currently under construction.
Richard now works for TMS as a Road Safety Engineer, involved with road safety audits and collision investigation and having completed his PGCE in 2013 through the University of Huddersfield, is looking to be involved with training in the future. Richard has been involved in over 750 road safety audits and numerous road safety reviews and projects. He is currently working on several major projects that include the Silver Town Tunnel which being constructed beneath the river Thames from the Greenwich Peninsula, the A361 North Devon Link Road, and several schemes within Stoke as part of the transforming cities project.
In his spare time Richard can be found reading non-fiction, walking along the Durham coastline sea glass collecting, silversmithing and is an active member of his local veteran’s community.
